As therapists, we support others, often at the sake of our own wellbeing. We are considered successful at work if we are self-sacrificing, hard-working, and can compartmentalize difficult things, but this can also mean erasing ourselves in service of others. We have found a calling in caring for others, but we are also our own people, complete with rich inner worlds, dreams, life experiences, grief, trauma, dark thoughts, addictions, heartache, depression, fear, joy, and love. Iām here to support you, as you support others.
